Itineraries

Our itineraries vary depending on your schedule.
A typical exclusive charter includes 7 nights and 8 days onboard. Shorter (3) night cruise or longer discounted voyages are possible too. Even transit ocean voyages as we relocate the schooner to new locations.

In 2023, we will be based in the San Blas, Islands. Latter our horizons will shift to Jamaica and Cuba.

Depending on your schedule we can suggest several options to start your cruise. If arriving to Panama internationally, you will fly into either TOCUMEN (PTY) or PANAMA PACIFICO ((BLB) in Panama City. The larger airport TOCUMEN offers many direct international flights worldwide, while the new
smaller PANAMA PACIFICO accepts less but offers a great direct connection from Cartagena, Colombia on WINGO.

From the airport or hotel in Panama City there are several option to join us onboard.

We can help arrange a small charter flight from downtown Panama City (Albert) directly to a landing strip in the San Blas islands. Based on availability it’s approximately $300 RT per person. Flight time is 45 minutes.

Alternatively, an airport or hotel pickup in the city and drop off at the schooner at Portobelo. Approximately $75 per person or less each way based on the number off passengers. Drive time 1.5 hour.

Early morning pickup at your hotel in the city and a shared drive in a 4X4 SUV thru the jungle to a frontier town on the mainland of San Blas. Costs approximately $35. Drive time 3.5 hours.

*Excludes runway taxes approx. $12 per person each way.
**Park entrance fee: approximately $120 per person (new, 2023)
***Water taxi to the yacht, approx. $25 per person

Walk the old harbor streets in this sleep village and visit the still intact fortresses guarding against pirates and others.

Day 2

Depart Portobelo in the morning for a 6-8 hour sail to the San Blas Islands. A scenic sail along the mountainous jungle coast line. Arrive in the island of Porvenir San Blas to make office entree into the park. Park fee is $22 per person* The price is subject to change.

Latter we shift anchorage to a small nearby island for some water activities.

Day 3, 4, 5, 6…

These days are spent sailing around the beautiful coconut palmed islands with white sand beaches and crystal clear waters. Mornings are spent snorkeling the underwater reefs with colorful tropic fishes or walking the beaches, kayaking or paddling. A quick swim first thing in the morning is the best way to wake up!

As we explore the islands you will marvel at the colors or the water and the exotic ambience of this unspoiled, undeveloped area inhabited only by native Indians.

We will also visit indigenous Indians at their island thatched roofed houses. They live a sustenance lifestyle on the out islands collecting coconuts and fishing the reefs. The women are typically busy making their traditional cloths
and artistic “molas”. These are offered to you as souvenirs.

Nearer the mainland we will visit an Indian village and see how they live in community. Near one of these villages we can take a small boat up the river that supplies much of the fresh water. With many species of exotic wildlife and birds
to observe.

On our next to last day we will return to Portobelo or nearly Porto Lindo to disembark, and catch your transports onward. Many people who haven’t experienced Panama City, especially the revitalized old town of Casco Viejo will
enjoy spreading a few days there. Located within the waterfront area of the city, Casco Viejo offers restored colonial architecture and fabulous bars, restaurants, hotels and great shopping. Also, historical museums in this safe area of Panama City.

We call this our SURF & TURF option. Spend a few days in Panama City taking in the sights. It can be arranged before or after the cruise for a truly fantastic experience.
